Xtend Barre: Parterre a Perfect Fit For Fitness Studio

Xtend Barre

The Client

Xtend Barre is a boutique fitness studio franchisor dedicated to amplifying elements of dance, ballet and Pilates to create an adrenaline-fueled workout for health and fitness enthusiasts across the globe. With interest from potential franchise owners spreading worldwide, leaders of the innovative fitness franchise decided it was time to re-envision the aesthetic of their studios, beginning with their corporate headquarters based in Boca Raton, Florida. The new 3,100-square-foot facility was intended to house not only the corporate offices, but also to showcase a replicable studio design for future franchise owners.

In order to move the project forward, Xtend Barre hired Fabiano Designs, a full-service architecture and interior design firm, to create a vision board both in an effort to determine the look and, most important, the feel of the new space. With the end goal of creating a modern, clean and welcoming facility, leaders at Xtend Barre began searching for the right companies to partner with on their interior design project. Hear how Parterre became the choice for flooring for the growing health and fitness company.

The Challenge

Blending a corporate headquarters with studio space can pose many challenges, especially given how the amount of foot traffic in the space increases throughout the day depending upon class schedules and business hours. Making matters even more challenging was the inclusion of a retail store within the new building, meaning even more customers coming in and out of the facility. Because of this, durability in flooring was essential—as was the ability to keep the flooring clean.

Areas most in need of a durable yet aesthetically pleasing flooring solution included not only the studio space and corporate offices, but also the main hallway and entrance areas, as well as the spaces leading to restrooms, locker rooms and the retail component.

The Solution

After receiving flooring samples from Parterre and testing them for both look and feel, the decision was made to order roughly 2,000 square feet of luxury vinyl flooring to outfit the new Xtend Barre corporate headquarters and studio space. Because of the high level of design versatility and functionality needed in the space, leaders at Xtend Barre selected a variety of plank flooring designs and colors.

Not only stylish, luxury vinyl plank is easy to clean and is durable enough to stand up to the constant foot traffic a fitness studio brings, making it an impeccable fitness flooring choice. The chosen layout involved both horizontal and vertical patterns, which allowed for an energetic design aesthetic throughout the space.

Conclusion

Both functional and chic, Xtend Barre used luxury vinyl plank from the Vertu Luxury Vinyl Plank collection:

  • Vertu’s Starry Oak was installed throughout Xtend Barre including the lobby, retail area, dressing rooms and employee offices. The distressed look and blue tint of Starry Oak added a contemporary feel to the space, pairing well with the brilliant yellow and teal décor placed throughout.

The distressed wood look of Parterre’s flooring paired nicely with Xtend Barre’s branding efforts, which focused primarily on a white wall décor with clean yellow line patterns throughout the space.

“I didn’t want it to feel sterile, I wanted to make sure it was warm and inviting,” said Andrea Rogers, founder and creator of Xtend Barre. “It now feels like a place you really want to be part of. It feels like a glamorous new home.”

In addition to being thrilled with the look of their beautiful new flooring, Rogers said Xtend Barre has been incredibly satisfied with the floor’s ability to handle everyday wear and tear.

“I wanted the space to look sharp and modern. I wanted it to look exceptional,” said Rogers. “But on top of that look for flooring, I wanted it to be able to hide the wear and tear. I wanted beautiful flooring that actually holds up and that’s what I got.”
